“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for good and not for harm, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
The prophet Jeremiah spoke these words some 600 years before the birth of Jesus, and they are as true today as they were then. God has plans for all who believe on the Lord Jesus; for all who make up His Church.
For over 93 years, the Lord has used Immanuel Baptist Church to make a Kingdom difference in our community, state, nation, and throughout the world. Our history abounds with God’s grace, and He continues to pour out His blessings upon our faith family.
While there are still people, near and far, who are seeking answers to the problems of life, desperately looking for a haven from the struggles of mankind and seeking hope in a hopeless world, we continue to clearly see how the power of God working through the gospel of His Son changes lives. These are exciting days, and God is not finished with us. So, what does God intend for us? What will be our focus? Indeed, what is God’s vision for His Church?
As your pastor, I want us to walk together seeking God’s answers to those questions along with His desire and direction for the future of our body of believers—specifically, where He wants to lead us between now and the year 2025. I feel strongly that Vision 2025 must be prayed over purposefully, lifted-up powerfully, and lived out passionately. Vision 2025 will be the compass we use to keep us focused as we embrace the future, which I believe is as bright as our past has been rich. As we look together toward the year 2025, may the path before us be directly in line with God’s will for our church family, and may we continue to demonstrate the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ through sharing His message, making disciples, and serving His Kingdom.
Once you have perused the following information, I ask that you prayerfully consider how God might want you to be involved in the life of His Church. My prayer is for all who call Immanuel Baptist their church home to not just agree with our focus and our aim, but to embrace Vision 2025 actionably by being involved in the many opportunities the Lord provides for us to be the hands and feet of Christ.
